A friend

What are friends for? A friend is someone you can rely on, someone you can trust, someone you can have fun with.You can have lots of time with someone and not feel they are your friend. A friend is some one who is always, always there for you.There is really no question about what friends are for. They are there, and, if you trust them, like them, then they are your friends.

Don't expect too much of a friend. Friends are not tools, not slaves, to be called at will. You can ask, but don't order or plead. Then they are not your friend. You should be able to not lie to a friend, feel what he feels, and trust him with all your heart. A friend should be like one of your family.

If you still don't have an idea what a friend is, let's pretend that your friend is a pillar, a solid one. If you can lean against it, hold on to it, not let it crumble, you have a friend. If the pillar collapses, then you don't get that friend. A friend is always there for you, always. Maybe you will fight, but that is natural. A friend is someone you can rely on. That is what a friend is for.

The magic book of Harry Potter

Have you ever read Harry Potter before？ When the books were published, I thought they were nothing special. After my young brother bought one and recommended me to read, I started to think the books really had some magic to attract people. If you did not read them before. I hope you can enjoy reading my short introduction of Harry Potter. If you read them before, we can have some ideas to discuss.
In the first book, Harry Potter thinks he is an ordinary boy until he is rescued by a beetle eyed giant of a man, enrolls at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, learns to play Quid ditch and does battle in a deadly duel. All because Harry Potter is a wizard! Follow the adventures of Harry Potter as he discovers the magical, the dangerous, the unpredictable world of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
In the second book, Harry Potter is a wizard. He is in his second year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. As Harry and Ron embark on their journey to Hogwarts in a flying Ford Anglia, little do they know that this year will be just as eventful as the last as ghosts from Hogwarts past return to haunt the school corridors.
In the third book, Harry Potter, along with his friends, Ron and Hermione, is about to start his third year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Harry can't wait to get back to school after the summer holidays. But when Harry gets to Hogwarts, the atmosphere is tense. There's an escaped mass murderer on the loose, and the sinister prison guards of Azkaban have been called in to guard the school.
In the fourth book, it is the summer holidays, and one night Harry Potter wakes up with his scar burning. He has had a strange dream, one that he can't help worrying about until a timely invitation from Ron Weasley arrives to nothing less than the Quid ditch World Cup. Soon Harry is reunited with Ron and Hermione and gasping at the thrills of an international Quid ditch match. But then something horrible happens which casts a shadow over everybody, and Harry in particular.
That is all Harry Potter first to fourth book. There are fifth and sixth book were published. But I still have no free time to read them. It would take me a lot of time to read the books. But when I read them, I felt that I took the trip to magic world and the books were full of creation. So I was relaxation and happiness when I read. Hope you can find out the book which you like and enjoy reading it. It would be great for you to kill your free time.

To learn English better

To learn English better

There are many ways to us to learn English. Some people say that environment is very important so the best way to learn English better is going to abroad. But it is not for every English learner. In my opinion, there are many ways to improve your English.

1. Listening - Try to listen to English radio, songs, and watch drama shows such as friends. Although you may not understand totally, at least you can try to get used to their speaking speed and accents.

2. Writing - Try to practice more with writing, you can get some penpals from websites, or even chat rooms. Alternatively you can write me and I am happy to correct your grammer. Try to write more often is important too,I suggest you should also start writing your dairy in english. Although you may make a lot of mistakes from the beginning, however you will see an improvement through time.

3. Oral and Speaking - Try to speak in english so that you can get used to it. The more you practice, the better result you will receive. It may be difficult to find someone to practice with, however you can find some english articles and read them out every day. To improve your confident in speaking english, you could try to read the articles out and facing the mirror.

4. Reading - There are many different sources to find english articles from the internet, magazines or newspaper. Try to find something that you interested in, read 3 to 5 from the first week and try more through time. Reading can help with your understanding in english, also you can learn more how people write in english from reading too.

5. Stick with your plan - the most important part is to stick yourself into it, don't give up and don't stop for any reasons. Language learning takes time and you should try to spend about 3 to 5 hours a day to get used to it and develope your interest.

If you try to do those things hard as possible as you can. I beleive that English would not be your problems anymore.

A comic book

I just read a commic book. So I post the reflection to share with you.
None of her business

This story is about a girl, Pat’s special experience. One day when pet was taking the bus. She saw a woman who was blind. Pat was so surprised that the woman traveled by herself. Then the woman was directed to the waiting because she had to wait another bus. Pat was waiting the same bus too. During the waiting time, Pat always pay attention to the woman and saw what she was doing. There was a man come to the woman closely and talked to her. Then the woman nodded and stood up. Pat thought that maybe the man could help the woman to catch the right bus. But they were headed out toward the street. They were not going to the place where the buses left. Pat was worried about the woman but she had only five minutes or she would miss the bus. Pat tried to asked police for help but there is no police station. Then she asked hot－dog stand to help her but he did not. The end of the story, Pat reached the man and woman and used her head to think an idea to make the man run away, saved the woman.
The girl who like Pat in our society is less and less. Nowadays, many people do not care about others around them. They just care about themselves. So when I was reading the story I can’t think there was a girl who could really pay attention to a stranger even the woman in the story did not ask someone to help her. Pat did help the woman by herself and actively. Pat said she was amazing that the woman traveled by herself but I am amazing Pat can really helped people in her daily life. I think we should learn a lesson from Pat. To know how to care and help people around you, maybe one day, you may need someone to help you. We do not be a person who is afraid of helping people like the hot－dog stand in the story.
Also we have to learn from Pat is that when we face the problems or trouble.
Firstly, we should cool down so that we can deal with it and think of it. This is the most useful thing I lean from this story.

Globalization

I took business English last semester. I thought I really learned a lot from class.
So this weekened, I read my notes that I took in the class before and made them become an article.
I wanted to share globalization to my members.

Globalization
Globalization is not only a trade. It is happening now and going to be constantly. In our life I classify globalization into two main parts. One is free trade and another one is culture shock.
Although globalization brings a lot of advantages to us, it still carries same disadvantages to us. For free trade, it seems everything is fair but it is not true. Because we can help supply each other’s needs, we will become over dependent. In the same way, we can make the best use of everything; we will over use the environment and natural resources. For culture, we are easy to lost our own culture, style and distinguishing feature. There is becoming only one main culture can be saved. How can we make the balance and stand stably in the world？
I use the marketing “4P” to describe the globalization.
First, finding where our place in globalization is. In my opinion, a country is equal to a brand. The world is the market. We have to manage our brand image. There are “4P” in the marketing, price, product, place and promotion. It is the easy way to make us understand that if we have the brand image（where our place in globalization is） and we can stand stably in the world（marketing）.
Second, not copy only（keep specific）. Take the article that is talking about Japanese high technology for example. Globalization is not copy. Because of globalization, there are many similar between culture and culture. It becomes the centralization of state power and we have only strong culture but no more. So the advantages and distinguishing feature of a country are the same as product design in marketing. We have to use them to help our brand image positioning and sell our country（brand）to the world（marketing）. To tell the market（world）, our brand（country）is special and the market needs us.
Third, to hold the inborn advantage. Take Taiwan for example, the place that is talking in marketing. Taiwan has an advantageous position. We are surrounding by oceans. We have convenient “distribution channel”. It is easy for us to arrive everywhere. I think we have to use this advantageous position to sell our brand to the market（world）.

Stories for my student

I am a toutor of a elementary school student.
This week, I watched five picture and told the stories to my student.
She seemed to have fun.
So I posted this five short story to share with my members.

Story 1－－Dream Jackpot
Everyone has a dream that one day they can be rich men or women. Danny also dreamed that he could be a rich man and buy everything he likes or he wants. He always thinks about what is the ways to get money quickly. One day, he was so tired that he slept on the sofa. And then, he had a dream. He dreamed that he went to a gamble world and played jackpot again and again. Finally, he won the gamble and got a lot of money. He was so happy that his dream came true. Suddenly, his dog waked him up. He found that it was only a dream. It was his daydream.

Story 2－－False Alarm
It was Tina’s first time to work in the airplane. Although she had many training before she started her job. She still felt very nervous about her first try. At first, it was fine for everything and Tina enjoyed serving passengers. But it was not easy to care about all the people on airplane. Finally, Tina felt a little tired. She tried her best to keep herself awake and concentrated on working. Suddenly, she pushed the wrong button. The emergency alarm started to ring. It was scared all of the passengers. Tina told the passenger that was a false alarm and explained the situation to everyone quickly. It was an unforgettable experience for Tina that she still remembers it clearly.

Story 3－－A Fishy Story
Terry and Sarah lived near a small lake. People called the lake, Lucky Lake. One day, Terry went out and went fishing. It was his first try to fishing at the lake. So Terry had more patient to wait for a long time. Finally, Terry felt tired and fell asleep. Suddenly, there was a big fish and Terry was lucky to get the very big fish. He was very excited about it. So he ran home quickly and told Sarah. They decided to cook the fish. Terry cut the fish and the strange thing happened. He found a gold ring in the fish’s stomach. They felt very surprised. From this story, that is why people called it “Lucky Lake.”

Story 4－－A Long Trip
Terry is a very poor guy. He worked in a small supermarket. Everyday he had to wake up early because he had another job that is delivering the newspapers. Why does he work so hard？He had a big dream. He always dreamed that he could cycle around the world. So he wanted that he could earn and save money as quickly as he can. His plan is that he will buy a very useful and new bicycle. And then, he will ride his bicycle from Taiwan and end up in Africa. His ideal trip is that he won’t live in any expensive hotels. He wants to close the nature and feels free whenever he wants. It is a very big and difficult dream for Terry because he doesn’t have enough money. But he still believes that his dream will come true.

Story 5－－Having a Ball
Mr. and Mrs. Wang were happy because they bought a new house recently. They thought they would have a great environment to go on holidays. The house was quite big and located in suburban area. There were a swimming pool, garden, court and so on. They expect to live in the house. So they went to there for their vacation. They were sitting on the chairs and enjoyed reading. Suddenly, many small balls came from next wall. Mr. and Mrs. Wang were shocked. They thought it was ridiculous why balls could come the next wall to their house. Mrs. Wang was angry of that. Because it interrupted her good time to enjoy reading. It was a bad experience for her holiday.

The Special Person in My Life

The Special Person in My Life
In my life, there is a person who supports me a lot, helps I as much as he can and teaches me which does not learn from books and classes. Danny is the special person in my life. Because of he, I learn the positive life style, brave to solve problems and learns truth which treat people handles matters and so on. He changes me and he is also one of my best friends. I have to say that Danny I the special person in my life.
When I was in senior high school, Danny was my Biology teacher. He teaches very well and interesting and always had smile on his face. I had a really good time in his class and enjoy his teaching. But I was poor in Biology. I did really work hard. I concentrated on listening his class, did preview and review everyday, spent a lot of time reading book again and again. But I still got poor grades. I tried it many times and it did not work. I was upset and wanted to give it up. From then on, I did not make effort to read Biology and I also thought I could not do things better.
No longer, Danny noticed that and tried to talk to me. He said that if I did not do anything for Biology, it would become worse and I got no chance to make it better. He asked me did not stop making effort on Biology. At first, I just did and I did not think that I could change my poor grades. Although it took me a long time, I found I was progressive. It was a big surprised for me. From then on, I learned that I could not hide myself when I had problems and I had to solve them.
One-day afternoon, I went to my Biology teacher’s office. I said that thank you for telling me not to give up and making me to do effort continually. But Danny asked me a question. The question was that did you only get good grades or did you learned anything else？ Maybe I could not understand Danny’s meaning then. But now I knew and wanted to tell Danny that I learned that I had to be strong to solve my problems and the most important things was that I had the positive life style now. I would not to face the things with negative side. Only way and chances to make myself better was positive life style.
After I graduated from senior high school. I seldom kept in touch with Danny. But every time when I had problems, I always thought of Danny and what he said to me before. I carried his advices and smile to face any things in my life. Maybe we did not have the chance to meet each other. But I won’t forget him. A person, Danny, who supports me a lot, helps I as much as he can and teaches me which does not learn from books and classes is the special person in my life.

A Book - Shape Game

The Shape Game is written by Anthony Browne. This story was talking about that there was a big change on his mom's birthday. This day Browne's family went to somewhere different. They went to watch paintings. During that time, they watched a lot of pictures and imagined about the story hidden in the paintings. And trying to find differences between them. After they finished their watching. Browne's mom had a little game and wanted to play eith them. The game called shape game. First person draw a shape, any kind of shape and the next person has to change it into something. From then on, Browne started his painting life and from that day it was a big change for him.

When I read this book at the begining. I confused about the real meaning about the story. I had no idea about what did he talk about. Because this story was easy and simple. I thought I did not have to think it too hard. So I prefered that Browne went to show readers how he started his painting life. That was true, there were something we could find in our daily life. Maybe we could find out our interesting, dreams and goals. Even that we could have our own imagination about everything. Because of Mom's birthday, Browne had a big change and that change made his painting life starting and became different.
